The initial cost of parts and screws were around $90 with tax. Then i had to additionally pay for a hacksaw and glue gun to make the initial cost higher. My build looks exactly like this one and for the extra $20 or less I decided to buy this for another mining rig. If you first start out you might want to buy this instead of building yourself so you don't need to add all the initial cost associated with the first build. If you have Prime, the shipping is included with the $120.00, a no brainer. I'm sure these are not going to last forever since everything is eventually going up in cost. The complainers probably never tried to build their own rig first using raw materials when they gave bad ratings.Update: The open case is built and it is a solid design. My home depot material build is a little off this spec with the dimensions and wood size but still is solid. I had to adjust the GPU ledge wood closer to the front due to my GPU dimensions. ### ⭐⭐ I feel like I just wasted $175 on something I could have ... *by S***N on July 7, 2017* Not impressed. I feel like I just wasted $175 on something I could have built out of wood for a fifth of the price. Many of the pieces are wood. It's an aluminum frame with some per-drilled holes to tie the two per-assembled side pieces and some pre-drilled holes that you could eventually use for the GPUs.It will work, but there really is not much to it. If this "kit" was a between $65 and $85 dollars, it would be worth it in some of the time saved by having everything pre-drilled and precut to the correct sizes, but these measurements are not rocket science. If you can build a wooden frame that is 20" long by 16" wide by 10" high with a 3" wide shelf that runs lengthwise the frame starting at a height of 6.5" and ends at 7" into the width of the frame, you will be dollars ahead.It has a bottom/floor made of wood for the motherboard and power supply to sit on and another wooden board for the GPUs to rest on, with the aluminum frame top to mount them on, which just as well be wood. You could screw the card right to the wood as easily as you could to the pre-drilled holes on the frame. In short, other than the aluminum frame looking a little nicer than a wooden would, there is no advantage I can see to using this if you have even minor carpentry skills, build your own, that's what I wish I would have done now. Suffering badly from buyers remorse at this point.The video also shows only how to assemble the frame and includes no information on mounting your power supply, mother board or GPUs.UPDATE: 2017-07-10 - After assembling and trying to mount my Gigabtye GeForce GTX 1070 Founder Edition card, I see that this rack will not work for my card(s) I plan on using for my mining rig. The shelf is only about 3.5 inches from the base to where you'd need to use the set screw to hold your GPU. My GPU is about 4.25 inches from base to set screw, this the .75 gap between the set screw mount of the card and the top of the rack. Returning item to seller. More to come on how that goes later.I did get a full refund from the seller and have bumped up my review from 1 star to 2 stars. I did build my own from scrap parts around the house for no cost but about an hours time. I made mine completely from wood, so it is not as pretty, but is more solid and functional. I am not a craftsman, just an average guy who has done some DIY projects and has a circular saw and a drill, the only power tools needed for this project. I already had all the materials, the wood, screws and drill bits and tips at home.Adding my pictures of the home-built open air frame I made from spare parts I already had. I am not a professional, just a guy who has done a fair number of DYI projects and had the materials and minimal tools needed (Circular saw, cordless drill, tape measure, square.) ### ⭐ Missing pieces, seller took no responsibility *by K***H on January 12, 2018* Absolute piece of garbage. Shipped without any of the advertised hardware. Had to file off rough edges and remove dangling bits of metal from predrilled holes AND with none of the mobo standoffs that were supposed to be there, I would up taking apart an old computer to reuse the mounts that it had. The seller's advice when I said I didn't get what I paid for: use double-sided tape, Velcro and cheap screws to attach everything!
