Once you get the X-Clamps off, both chips are exposed to where you can gently (emphasis on gently) take off the old thermal paste. When you go to take the X-Clamps off, you never want to rush the process- one slip, and it could very well be "curtains" for your 360. This entire process is patience-based, but I can verify it works: my 360 hasn't overheated since, and I can run it for several hours if I desire (usually not though- the joys of college!). **Q: Does this kit include an applicator?** A: No. I used qtips to clean and the paste itself is fairly thick so direct application from the bottle works- just a small dab.
