Review: Works easily. Quickly and looks really neat - Connection is super easy - replicates signal all over the house. I have a router that I turned the WiFi internally off so that I could benefit from the signal being boosted using the EERO 6+ with the 3 hubs dotted around the house. Easy to setup via the app and clear instructions and guidance throughout the process. I have UltraFast broadband which used to be 850mbps in 2 rooms of the house but shockingly bad (less than 50mbps) everywhere else despite clear line of sight to other rooms. Now I have consistent 400mbps in every corner of the house so am very pleased with the EERO 6+. Named the device the same as my normal Hub and used the same password as existing during setup and that allowed all devices to rejoin the network without having to enter new details on each. The cable that comes in the box is either a Cat5e or Cat6 cable, therefore we recommend one of those. **Q: Does this model support pppoe, i.e. i don't need a separate router, one of the eero's will route and can plug this directly into my fibre module?** A: Yes. Yes it does. I have fttp provided by Lothian broadband. They have a modem that’s about 4 inches by 5 inches where the fibre comes in. They then also supplied Me a wireless router that I plugged into the modem. Eero replaces that’s wireless router box completely. I just got my username and password from Lothian broadband and entered it into the eero app. Told it I was using pppoe and it just fired up. A complete doddle **Q: can you split the wifi to 2.4 and 5ghz ?** A: No, you can't because the Mesh network deals with them itself. Clever tip from another user - thanks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really good system for technophobes ..... ish! *by N***N on 14 October 2022* Lets start of with the positives. 1. Incredibly stylish 2. Very simple instructions 3. Nice app 4. Good Wi-fi 6 coverage So, if everything goes well out of the box, then people will rave about this system. However...... if it doesn't work exactly as you want it to (I installed 2 systems and both needed tweaking), you wont be able to set this up yourself without some knowledge of networking. How the system operates is that it wants to be the modem / initial gateway router, which generally will mean replacing what it is that was already there. This may require usernames / passwords for connection, which the Eero system will let you put in, but not without trying it's "idiot proof" setup a few times before eventually you find the button to manually change the settings. In addition, the old router which you want to keep in the network will need reconfiguration to fit with the new system, and in one of the cases, it was easier to just avoid making it the gateway. Ultimately, it's a good system, but I can see some people struggling because the ease of setup is aimed at the normal non techy user, but I can see quite a few of those struggling with this. The range is good, although it's not as impressive as I'd have expected for a 6+ Overall though, I like the way the Mesh system works, and it is seamless between the different pods.
