It’s sturdy enough, but given differences in declination based on geographic location, I do think the compass is inaccurate. Still, a nice piece and it would work well for steampunk attire, too.

This pocket compass with portable sun dial is a lovely little piece that makes a great gift for those graduating or a nice sartorial accent for people looking to add to their wardrobe. The compass is touchy. Theres some steel in this so you have to set it level to work right. The needle moves fast but tends to over correct. Setting it on steel completely throws off the reading.
