To give you a better idea, i put Oreos in one compartment for my kids snack, I can fit 3 Oreos stacked, and 1 Oreo on its side to where i can still put the lid on tightly. **Q: Is it normal for these to smell like rotten avocado right out of the box? Washed them and still had slight rotten smell.** A: I do T think that’s normal. I have hypersensitive senses and still didn’t smell anything that offensive before (or after) my initial wash. I hope this helps. **Q: What material is the lid made of?** A: I think the lid might be plastic.
