## Description

Give your dry, burning, or irritated eyes REFRESH OPTIVE MEGA-3 Lubricant Eye Drops—a preservative-free formula that provides fast-acting, long-lasting relief. These artificial tears soothe symptoms with advanced hydration that nourishes the eye’s surface and help protect your natural tears from evaporating. Plus, this formula is enriched with the inactive ingredients flaxseed oil, which contains omega-3s, and trehalose, an antioxidant. It contains HydroCell technology, a solution containing glycerin, which enables hydration and maintains the volume of cells on the eye's surface, while active ingredient carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) provides lasting lubrication to dry eyes. Preservative-free and safe to use as often as needed, even with sensitive eyes. You can also add REFRESH OPTIVE MEGA-3 to your morning or night routine to prevent further irritation. It comes in sterile single-use vials that are easy to use when you’re on the go. Just apply 1 to 2 drops in the affected eye(s) and experience the relief you’ve been searching for. It soothes and prevents further irritation with one drop, providing 10+ hours of dry eye relief (Results may vary. Data on file, AbbVie, Inc. REF-136415). A preservative-free formula is also available in a multidose bottle. REFRESH OPTIVE MEGA-3 is FSA and HSA eligible. Depending on your plan, you may be able to use your pre-tax dollars to cover this product as an out-of-pocket expense. Trust your dry eyes to REFRESH—the #1 doctor recommended artificial tears and preservative-free leader with more than 35 years of experience (Data on file, AbbVie, Inc. REF-113774).

Review: Gentle eye drops that are easy to keep on hand - I use these eye drops during the day, especially when my eyes feel dry. The single use vials make them easy to grab and use without any hassle, and I like not having to worry about contamination. When I put them in, they feel gentle and smooth. They do not sting or feel irritating, which makes them comfortable to use even when my eyes already feel a bit sensitive. I notice they feel more moisturizing than some basic drops I have tried, and they seem to absorb pretty quickly without leaving a heavy or overly blurry feeling for too long. That balance makes them easy to use during the day when I still need to stay active and focused. I usually keep a few vials in my bag and some at my desk so they are easy to use whenever needed. It is convenient not having to think about it too much since each one is already pre-measured. One thing I notice is that each vial is single use, so if I do not use the whole thing at once, the rest gets tossed. That is just part of the format, but it is something I keep in mind when using them. Overall, they are easy to use and fit into my routine without much effort. They are simple, comfortable drops that I reach for when my eyes feel dry.
Review: Ophthalmologist-recommended and it genuinely delivers — still using it a month post-LASIK - My ophthalmologist recommended these drops as part of my pre and post-LASIK routine, so I didn't go into this purchase blind (no pun intended). But even with professional backing, you never really know how something will feel until you actually use it. These have been consistently good. The relief is fast — you feel it almost immediately after applying, that cooling, soothing sensation that dry or irritated eyes after LASIK really need. There's no stinging, no blurriness right after, just actual comfort. I'm now about a month out from surgery and still reaching for these regularly. Dry eye is one of the most common side effects of LASIK and it doesn't disappear overnight, so having something that actually works makes a real difference in day-to-day comfort. One thing I really appreciate about this particular format is the single-dose vials. They're so much more practical than a regular bottle — easy to throw in your bag, use on the go, and you're not worried about contamination since each one is sterile and sealed until you open it. You also end up wasting less product overall, which makes the value per drop better than it might look at first glance compared to the standard bottle. Once you factor that in, the price makes a lot more sense. I've tried other lubricating drops before and they either felt too watery and wore off quickly, or left a filmy residue. These hit a good middle ground — substantial enough to last but not heavy or uncomfortable. If your doctor has recommended lubricating drops post-surgery, or you deal with chronic dry eye, these are worth keeping in your routine. I'll keep buying them.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: It lists ingredients carboxymethylcellulose sodium, glycerine, polysorbate 80. why is flax oil not listed?**
A: Flaxseed oil is considered an inactive ingredient in the US so is listed elsewhere on the carton. In the US, some eyedrop ingredients are considered as "active" based on FDA Monograph rules. Many useful and protective ingredients are included in eyedrops, but those not classified as "active" will be listed separately on the carton.

**Q: are they preservative free**
A: Yes they are preservative free, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. The manufacturer says you should only open a vial, use 1-2 drops per eye and then DISCARD the vial and all remaining lubricant. The reason is that because there is no preservative, any bacteria that gets into the opened vial will multiply like crazy and within a short period of time could become enough bacteria to create an eye infection after repeated use of a vial. These drops are far better than most others on the OTC market, but they are very expensive, especially if you need to use more than one vial a day for blepharitis, etc. At $24 a box (retail price) you are purchasing just 1/5 of an ounce (!) of lubricant in 30 delivery vials — that would be a bit more than a teaspoonful of lubricant total.

**Q: Do these eyedrops have flaxseed oil?**
A: Yes, but as the fifth Inactive Ingredients. Active Ingredients, eye lubricants, are carboxymethylcellulous sodium, glycerin and polysorbate. BF has severely dry eyes and so far Retaine MGD has proven to be her go to drops. Nano Tears work but are only single use.

**Q: can they be used during the day, to drive, will they blur vision?**
A: They do blur my vision for a few (2-3 ) minutes. I usually relax with my head tilted back to really get the benefit from the drop because the drop relieves the burning immediately to my irritated dry eye.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These drops are wonderful for my eyes
*by S***P on July 17, 2026*

Refresh Optive Mega-3 Lubricant Eye Drops Preservative Free are the best drops that I have tried. I have a long history of drug allergies and sensitivity reactions to products but Refresh Optive Mega-3 Lubricant Eye Drops Preservative Free have given me no problems whatsoever. After having cataract surgery, glaucoma and dry eyes, I've tried different drops but this has worked wonders for me. These drops last longer and give instant relief with no residue buildup around my eyes like some others. The vials are easy to carry in the purse and keeps from getting a whole bottle contaminated. I don't have to use as many in a day, therefore it saves me money. I would recommend that you give this a try if you have sensitive dry eyes and your doctor approves it for your condition.
