Long casting and smooth drag are most critical concerns. Got out once using 10lb braid with FC leader. Incredibly smooth retrieve, great casting distance. Didn't really get to test the drag since the biggest fish I caught was about 17 inches.I do love this reel but i don't know if it's worth paying an extra $500+ over a Vanford, which I also have in the same 2500 size using the exact same line set up. At least for what I'm targeting.
