I don't remember if it had a certain life of the battery when I bought mine. **Q: How long does one charge last?** A: About the charge length & battery life:--I use my light visor most mornings for 30-60 minutes on the brighter setting. In the dead of cloudy winter weather, sometimes I'll use it up to 90 minutes. The light stays strong during all of that time. --If I forget to charge it overnight after a morning's use, then the next morning it will start to dim as I'm wearing it, so I charge it nightly. --Also, if it's fully charged but I don't use it for 3 or 4 days, I find that the charge has drained off.--I try not to keep it on the charger longer than overnight. --I've had & used my light visor for 3 years, 4 months now; still works great after much use, with no deterioration of battery or light quality. **Q: Can you drive while wearing this?** A: Do NOT drive while wearing this, unless you have the lights off. This is very dangerous, you could kill someone! Once you wear it you will see why everyone is telling you NO.
