Review: Awesome flick...not just a twisted horror movie - Saw this in the city (NY) the morning it came out and it did not disappoint. Even with the shock hype. I've seen every horror film there is so very few movies are that good to hit a nerve in me, but this was one that worked! I guess I'd call it disturbing, but in a good way if that makes any sense. Don't get me wrong I wasn't affected the way some of these people at the premiere were affected (supposedly, because I kind of find it hard to believe that people fainted and vomited, but that's the word) but as the story progressed and some of the scenes played out (one scene/revelation near the end in particular) I was taken aback momentarily. More than any particular scene though I think it was the overall affect the movie had on me. Plus it's smart and well executed. It speaks to larger themes of conformity, sibling rivalry and the emotional and psychological commitment siblings have with one another (to varying degrees). The shock element is there, but as the other reviewer here said this isn't quite a horror movie (well maybe it is). The "thing" (don't want to spoil it) is merely a hook, but it's a good hook. This is a movie about trying to adjust to a foreign environment when you're really just a kid trying to fit in and find your way. When you're away from home and lonely and still emotionally and sexually immature from a psychological perspective and not ready to handle it all but can't resist those urges. You want and really need to satisfy those sexual urges, it's part of life, but it's not easy because you don't quite know your way. The film is a horrific metaphor for it all yet also works as a horror movie. It's one of the most original movies I've seen. Don't worry you won't faint or vomit. I promise.
Review: Metaphoric, atmospheric, incredible lead actress! - I speak fluent French so was able to fully immerse myself and leave subtitles out of the way. I am glad, because I came out of it only wanting to watch it again and not miss a thing. I adored the performance of the lead actress and completely felt and believed her journey. She is entirely committed to this role and so adeptly conveys every piece of it... I saw this as a metaphor story more than a literal one, and appreciated the use of symbolism, which compelled me throughout. The only part I found mildly displeasing was the performance of the older sister. I felt she was very "in your face" and could have pulled back some. It would have made her "fit" better in the story for me. She overdid it IMO... Like ok, you are _________ we get it, I don't need to be hit over the head with it. Otherwise, beautifully done, thought provoking for sure, satisfying to the end... Good to the last bite.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Metaphoric, atmospheric, incredible lead actress!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This movie is excellent, in darn near every way possible
*by G***Y on August 8, 2017*

My review is going to come as no surprise to (most) those whom have seen this film. This movie is excellent, in darn near every way possible. It is well acted, shot, written, paced... I could go on. The greatest thing that I liked about this film is how it so effectively pulled me into the story, rather then going the way of "oh shes a vampire, or a ghoul or some such" it keeps it very very un specific, except for her budding habit of "eating Raw Meat". So as the story develops and grows, I found myself saying and wondering what the heck is going on, and asking myself "Why is this character like this." In a film market today, saturate with mediocre thrillers and horrors, this movie is a one gem which shines brightly in a sea of potatoes. If you are a fan of thriller/horrors at all you really need to see this movie.
