I bought the two pack of hooks as well as it looked sturdy enough to hold the package, which it is, and be strong enough to yank the tabs hard in an emergency to pull the blanket out of the packaging. I didn’t want to DIY a hook and have the release slowed down by a poorly sticking hook when needed. Great decision. Don’t compromise, get the hook(s) also. The blanket will be where you need it when you need it, and will be able to be pulled out in a split second.

This product looks perfect. I bought the two pack of Prepared Hero fire blankets. One for my home and one for a gift. I can’t try it out as it is a safety item, but it looks like it will do the job. I bought the two pack of hooks as well as it looked sturdy enough to hold the package, which it is, and be strong enough to yank the tabs hard in an emergency to pull the blanket out of the packaging. Fire blankets are used in oil fires where the accelerant (oil) is not miscible with water. Most household cooking fires are oil fires, definitely need an excellent-quality, certified fire blanket along with an ABE extinguisher. 5/5.
