Works
Definitely works and helps me feel more secure. I have maintenance randomly stop by and they let themselves in without waiting and it’s horrible. So now they confusingly wiggle the handle till I get to them to let them in.

Sturdy and easy to use
I’m glad I found the option to have the metal version, This is the first time I bought one and I was holding out because most of them were made with plastic instead of a full metal design, so that’s cool. It works exactly like the product description, and any of the videos that I’ve seen people using them other than people getting stuck because they were using the wrong size. but yes, just my opinion I suggest getting the full metal one and be sure to measure the hole and latch if you’re using it at home if you’re bringing one to a hotel or something, I suggest getting more than one of them and different kinds. That way you have somewhat of a variety and they’re not very big, pretty compact and this one came with its own drawstring bag which is pretty cool.. thanks y’all 🙂🤙🏻

Looks can be deceiving
It doesn't look like much, yet it holds the door securely. It's easy to install if the gap between the door and jamb is sufficient. I discarded the chain that was included because it's chintzy and sometimes gets in the way during installation. I didn't do a kick test - I don't get compensated for product testing and the hotels I stayed in probably would've protested. To insure against someone else doing that I paired this with one of the two other styles of lock from other vendors. All three - this one, B0BJJV5H5R, and B07HM7X6TT weigh about two pounds together. They might be an easy and useful addition to your 'travel kit' whenever a hotel stay is on the itinerary. I think it's a good idea to have something else as a backup for a different reason - this (and both options I used) doesn't work with all doors, but I was able to use at least one everywhere I went. At every place except two on our recent 18-day road trip, I was able to use at least two.

Secure and Easy to Use!
I purchased these Hotel Door Locks for added security during my travels, and they have been fantastic. They are easy to install on any hotel door, providing an extra layer of security that gives me peace of mind while I'm away from home. The build quality is solid, and they're compact enough to fit easily in my travel bag. They work smoothly without any issues. Highly recommend for travelers seeking a simple and effective way to secure their hotel room!

Made me feel more safe and secured
I have problems with solo hotel stays after being in hospitality background for years. I had to deal with solo women working for the week at 3 properties who were assaulted. Shady employees and people off the street or combos of both. Swiveling at all times, at all costs, ladies! That's always stuck by me and caused me to be more cautious about staying in hotels for myself, by myself. I use the hotel locks and guards, but I still didn't feel safe enough. I just came back from a solo trip and used this. I felt safe enough to stop the anxiety I am plagued with so that I could sleep. I could breathe and relax enough to 😂. It's not exactly easy to get on and operate the first few times, but it's easy to get on once you have played with it. It's generally pretty sturdy and does its job. I just wish the metal gauge was a bit thicker. I've used both sides of the door hinge and then it worked great. Only tip!: Keep your hands out of the way after investigating which size works for you. Always put it on left side of the door, so no pushins. I plan on taking it out on every trip from here on out.

Trapped!
I tried this on the three interior doors in my home. First two, I couldn't close the door with the metal plate in because the doors fit too tightly in their frames. Third door, it worked as expected .... but too well. With the triangle shaped slider removed, the door still wouldn't budge. I'm damn lucky this happened in a room that shares its closet with the next room over, because otherwise I'd be trapped. Without my phone. I escaped through said closet and looked for solutions in the comments. Then I climbed through the closet back in to take video and try the suggestion of wiggling the plate. It took a lot, y'all. A *lot*. I thought I was going to have to take out the hinge pins. Makes me fearful of getting trapped in a room -- if this had happened in the bathroom, where the only window is glass blocks? Or if it happened while traveling? Damn, that's a scary thought! Sending it back!

Doesn't work in most hotel doors
Good in theory. When a deadbolt lock fits the rectangle hole, you're good and it works great. I travel extensively for work (2-3 hotel stays per month) and will say I'm finding it doesn't work on the majority of doors at Hilton's and Marriott locations. The deadbolt locks are too big to fit in the rectangle hole. I bet I can actually use this in 1 out of 4 or 5 trips. Currently shopping for something else.

If it’s a tight door in the frame, it will likely mark the door/frame/paint
Like the title says, I tested the function on my own doorway, and while I was able to make it fit, since my door closes a little tight (exterior door), it did scratch the paint off applying the device. Not a huge deal, since the paint is in the frame, and knowing that it will take more effort for someone to get inside provides me peace of mind while I’m sleeping. I’m content with it.
