The plastic it's made of is strong and it handles firmly as an cutting tool. It comes with spare blades and a little pad to put the needle on so you don't get a hole in your work (although the needle will eventually make it's way through the plastic pad). All the circles I cut were perfect, the blade doesn't move off kilter while cutting. And you can cut with a really light touch too. This is SO much better than the Jakar one I bought which was poor quality and useless as it moves while cutting. Review: Circling around the point - I purchased the circle cutter to cut the wheel well out of my rc car body shell. It was simple to use and to ensure a neat cut through the polycarbonate I had to do light repeated cuts with the compass cutter until I could simply pull the cut out from the body shell. Had I tried to cut through the shell in one sweep I fear I may have torn or ripped the plastic.. Only slight issue is that the rubber stability disk that comes with this has an x engraved into it to identify the middle of where you want your compass point to be.. mine however was off center. it didn't affect my use of this tool but it may yours so just a heads up. so cheap .. choice of blades.. stable and sharp enough to cut through my rc car body (polycarbonate) with ease and gave a really neat finish. ## Features - Warning:Not suitable for children under 14 years. The CMP-1 has a blade similar to an Xacto knife so that can cut paper, cardboard and some foam. I don't know what CMP stands for, I thought it was just a model label. **Q: Does it work on fabric?** A: The rotary cutter is for fabric. The straight-blade cutter is not. Choose which fits your needs. **Q: will it cut aluminum trays - the one that is used for baking?** A: This product is for artist and designers for cutting paper, some thin plastic sheets, poster board, etc. It might work if the thickness of your aluminum tray is about regular disposable baking aluminum foil pan. **Q: Will this tool cut small holes into a thin sheet of latex?** A: I use it on high strength silicone sheets up to 1/16" thick. It gets the job done. Circles as small as 1" and larger turn out surprisingly good. I bought the more expensive rotary version from olfa and a fiskars circle cutter and both were complete failures when cutting silicone rubber. Silicone is tougher then latex.
