I've found wire cutters are quite good for this task. This was the cheapest cable I could find to do the job, which it did very well. I wanted the lights to be inside glass fronted display cabinets, but on both sides of the kitchen meant there would be a multiple controller issue. So instead of having multiple controllers, I cut the light cables up and ran them across the loft (bungalow) to the other locations. Used heat shrink connectors and then only needed one controller for multiple cabinets. Did the same thing for display cabinets in other rooms. Much cheaper than lots of Alexa power sockets. As speaker cable, it would work, but I would only use it to drive low powered speakers. If you search for cable thickness to sound quality, you find results that show the cable thickness does have an effect on the sound quality, still, it is a contentious subject.
