Review: Much better than cheaper version. Worth the price - Works well, does not stick like cheaper version
Review: I am converted - I spent ages on the Parker web site trying to find out about pen converters, as from the desertcart partner listings it seems there are several at different price points. In fact there are essentially two models, a basic plastic thing and one - this one - with metal bits, though a gold plated version of the metal-bitted one is also available for those who insist on burning money on never-seen shinyness. The Parker site was no help, as it's been designed by some spiv who confuses graphical gimmickry with information, so had to trawl forums and collector sites to get this fundamental info which should have been in a catalogue. SO - this seemed to be the best bang-for-buck deal and I invoked the credit card... The converter arrived extremely quickly. No packaging apart from jiffy bag which isn't a problem but surprised me. No instructions but took me all of a minute to figure out to twist the end bit, not the apparent ring further down. I didn't want to bust it by cavalierly wrenching it with gusto - always best to spend a minute thinking and a lifetime of owning than to presume, impatiently wrench and then sulk regretfully for countless years with a leaky gizmo... Ok,fitted to an IM, it works nicely. The gentle "twist to unscrew" piston action makes it clean to use, unlike the damn piston yanking direct-pull spurt monsters I was brought up on back in the day of my original Flighter. Infinitely better than cartridges, which are an invention of Ye Devylle, and much better than the gormless rubber bulb in a nutcracker nonsense that's fitted to an 70s Parker of unknown modellage. I will certainly fit more of these to the half dozen cartridge-only Parkers I have kicking around the house. Should come as standard, really. Delighted. Recommended. Maximum stars.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how do you fill it up**
A: One additional tip: Put the empty converter into the pen first, just as if it were an ink cartridge. Then, while the converter is still empty, twiddle the top until the plunger has gone down to the bottom - before putting the nib of the pen in the ink bottle. When you then twiddle the top in the other direction, you will suck up the ink into the container. It's a good idea to have a bit of absorbent kitchen paper of blotter handy so that you can wipe surplus ink off the end of the pen before using it and getting ink on your fingers. It's an even better idea to do all this when a helpful cat or small child is not around to assist you.

**Q: Does it fit all parker pens**
A: Hi, any Parker fountain pen that uses standard Parker ink cartridges can use this instead. Hope this helps.

**Q: Purchased this to go with my Parker IM fountain pen but doesn't seem to fit?**
A: Deluxe converter was designed for use with Parker Sonnet and Dufold models, for Parker IM should use Parker standard converter and not deluxe model

**Q: Does this converter fit to a Parker 45 Pen? Not sure if any one has this experience?**
A: found this for you 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful Good Product 22 Nov. 2011By pbk63 - Published on Amazon.comVerified PurchaseNeeded to have work in my Parker 75 and while dealer was not able to assure me it would work with that model I decided to risk it. Works just fine in that pen! Bought through Amazon from Court Supplies and they were very fast in response to e mail and although using US Mail the converter arrived in less than a week (NYC to MO). Had not used the twist version before but seems to work well. Not quite as much ink as with cartridge, per fill, but only marginally so. And obviously bottle of ink much cheaper than using cartridges. I was able to fill pulling ink through the nib although converter seems to recommend pulling ink directly from the bottle. Either way you have to use tissue to clean off excess ink and probably filling from bottle is better. I have both Mont Blanc, Schaeffer and Parker fountain pens and prefer the Mont Blanc bottles but the Parker ink so I fill old Mont Blanc bottles with the ink to have benefit of both. Mont Blanc tips to fill a reservoir with ink for dipping nib (or converter)and slants to make filling easy. But Parker ink has cleaner included and is a richer ink. Since buying my Parker 75 when new in 1965 I have used used a syringe to fill cartridge (saving on cost of ink and more convenient than having multiple cartridges around) so am pleased now to have a converter for the pen to make filling easier and eliminate need for cartridges. Can recommend this product.
