Review: Super handy at work - I got these to have at work for a quick reference and they're great. I'm a heavy truck and trailer mechanic so not welding full time I don't always remember settings off the top of my head so this guide is great. It's durable enough for frequent "thumbing" and is clear and concise with all the information you need to set up for a quality weld in a handy size. Highly recommended.
Review: Great quick reference solution for the occasional welder - Package includes three slide calculators; TIG, MIG, and Stick and they come in a resealable plastic envelope. These are great for the novice or occasional welder who needs a quick way to figure out where to start with setting for each of the three processes. What I really like about these three are the cost and the size. The Miller cards are made from rigid cardboard and seem to hold up pretty well. I have used/seen others that were larger and made from thinner material and those take up more space and are easily creased making them more difficult to use. I really did not need all three but for the price I figured I would buy the package. Bottom line is, if I lost one or was helping someone get started learning a new process I would buy them again. It is easier than digging out the book.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: All i see on these pics of the TIG card are settings for aluminum / mag and titanium. are there settings anywhere for mild steel ?**
A: On the other side it shows stainless with a note that says mild steel use 10% higher amperage values. There’s also a section for Deoxidized copper, no clue about that. All three of the calculators shows data on both sides.

**Q: The image of the tig chart shows only exotic materials. does this set include tig data for steel?**
A: For basic steel - the general rule of thumb is 1 AMP per .001" of material thickness. For example, 0.125" steel, you would set your max current to 120-130A. Depending on the nature of the joint you're welding, you may have to start higher and back off with the pedal to avoid burn through. If you are using more advanced features (pulsed DC) for steel, you may want to set your max higher & background at somewhere between 35% and 50%.

**Q: Does it exist with the metric system?**
A: Miller does make these with metric measurements, but I have not seen them on Amazon. You can order directly from Miller.

**Q: Does it calculate deposited metal for different size fillet welds?**
A: No, it does not! It is an excellent quick reference for set up of the machine to electrode type and size for amperage, gas, tungsten, rate, etc. Very good tool to have. I don't know of any chart that will give you filler deposited, without doing the math.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ a must have for rookie arc welders
*by H***Z on September 7, 2024*

i've been welding for many many years, but never got into any Arc welding. I only ever did Mig welding. I needed this calculator to figure out my voltage on different sticks. there's 3 different calculators in the package. Tig , arc, mig. I only needed the arc calculator. I find it very useful and helpful. its made from good quality thick plastic like paper and will last a long time comes in a nice plastic protective Storage sleeve too. I recommend buying this product
