My cats walk across the headboard regularly, and occasionally side crawl on it when they’re spazzing out. They do not “scratch” it like a post though. So far it’s been fine. No pulls or holes. It will not necessarily “protect” the headboard underneath as it’s more like a slightly thicker, stretchy tshirt cover. Things can still poke through. However that stretch also keeps the nail pokes at bay, by going right back to normal shape. If your cats don’t sharpen their claws, then you’ll be fine with them walking all over it. Lol **Q: My headboard is not rectangle it has a little arch to it , will it work?** A: Thanks for your interest in our product.
