Water resistant, maybe, but we'll see. If you're looking to install this, first, the diagram provided by the manufacturer is exactly right. I tested all 4 wiring configurations and they worked perfectly. My advice is to ignore the wiring guidance provided by other reviews as at least one of them will result in sparks. I'm not sure why manufacturers can't just provide a simpler diagram, but here is my diagram that is hopefully a bit easier to follow. This is how you wire this switch to a light with red and black leads (using their configuration #1):In this configuration, pressing the button turns on the light and the light is only illuminated when in the "on" position.First, cap the brown wire - not neededWhite wire from the switch goes to the positive battery terminal.Tie black wires from switch and light together and run to the negative battery terminal.Red and white wires from the switch go to the positive lead on your light (device).That's it. Pretty simple. I'm a fan. Illumination is nice and bright. This is a small low amperage switch so the lead wires are expectedly small.
