It seems very high quality albeit I have a few niggles (below) which mean I can't give it five stars.I'm currently typing this on a MacBook Pro 13-inch with an external monitor, ethernet cable, external hard drive and usb keyboard and mouse attached via the hub. Everything works seamlessly on first connection.Concerns:- As commented by others, the hub only delivers 49W of power with a 61W charger. I also have a Tecknet VGA adapter and this likewise only delivers 50W of power. I'm not sure why there is such a drop in charge for these adapters.The unit gets somewhat warm even without the power connected. I'm not sure why when it is only receiving USB-C power from the MacBook when the battery is the only source of power.The unit then really warms up with the power cable in. It doesn't 'overheat', but it would actually make a nice 'hand warmer' and it's certainly much hotter than the Tecknet VGA adapter.Most strangely, to me, it gets warm with just the power connected to it and nothing else. Some old power adapters did this, but an Apple Charger won't draw any power unless there's something connected which seems a much better design.This is a bit frustrating at the end of the day. Instead of leaving it connected to my MacBook when I finish work, I feel like I should disconnect it from the mains power so it doesn't sit there endlessly using energy up, and potentially over time, I wonder whether it would cause internal damage to the components? Unless someone can convince me that this is safe and the power draw isn't particularly high, I'm dropping one star - but as there is no support website- My other niggle is that if you close the MacBook or send it to sleep, the HDMI just doesn't reconnect. Not on a 'detect displays' command, not on removing the USB-C connection, but only on taking out the HDMI cable and reinserting it again. For using every day, this is not a viable solution.I really want to like this product, it seems to do everything so well, but I just don't feel you can trust it when it runs so warm. In a few months it could be dead and you've got no warranty or returns post the first 30 days that Amazon offers. It'll have to go back until:1) The power consumption / heat issue is fixed2) There is a warranty and an actual company behind the device that would give you some sort of guarantee it will work for at least 18 months3) Ideally the HDMI issue is fixed, albeit I don't know if this is an Apple issue as I haven't got access to another adapter at presentCome on Anker and Tecknet - can't you match this with a better quality product? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing versatile adapter! *by J***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 July 2017* Updated Review:My initial adapter had a few flaws and I had to return it. However my replacement unit performs much much better than the previous one! My USB devices all reach maximum speeds (my fastest USB stick easily hit 250MB/s; I assume SSDs will go faster), which is what one would expect from a USB 3.1 connection. The device doesn't get as hot as my previous one. It is barely handwarm, still comfortable to touch. I also had no issues with disconnecting disks as before. Display connection is also smooth and reliable no interruptions at all. So overall i am much more happy with the replacement device! It is quite versatile with all its different ports and that is what i was looking for.In case you have trouble with yours just get it replaced! Adapter is definitely awesome. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm now trying the thinner version (without ethernet) and it seems to hold better. It works well but if you have the charger connected it become extremely (and yeah, I mean it) hot and the usb drive inside become as hot. I have a macbook (not pro) so it should be the lowest possible voltage. Since I do't remember my mac been that hot, ever, I'm slightly worried that keeping a usb drive inserted for a long time might cause data corruption. I'm now trying the thinner version (without ethernet) and it seems to hold better.
