Review: Excellent Sustain Pedal - Works wonderfully. Well made and quick delivery
Review: Reassuringly well made! - I should mention that I haven't in fact used this yet, so my five stars are based on this pedal's physical properties rather than its performance. I chose this one over all the rest of its type because it was physically the largest I could find, which together with the rubber underside I'm hoping will keep it in one place when I use it. It's satisfyingly heavy and seems to have just the right amount of resistance when closing it, which it does smoothly and quietly and does the same when returning to the open position. It appears to be very substantial and well made as you'd expect from Yamaha and it should be borne in mind that these pedals have to stand up to a lot of use and abuse so they need to be tough. However, anyone buying one of these must be sure that the keyboard/instrument they will be using it with has the option to change the polarity in software as it doesn't have a switch. I suppose it would work out of the box with any Yamaha gear and probably most other manufacturers too, but it's worth bearing that in mind. Incidentally, years ago I had a similar sustain/damper pedal from some other keyboard manufacturer which had a quarter inch jack socket at the back instead of a lead so you could use whatever length of cable you wanted and your choice of straight or right angled jack plug at either end. I liked that idea because I prefer to keep my cables at an optimum length to avoid the inevitable snarl-ups, but I haven't seen it on any of the many pedals I've been looking at recently.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Has anyone got one of these working with a Yamaha P125?**
A: This Yamaha expression pedal will work with any compatible keyboard. In order to be compatible, it must be wired in the correct polarity (all Yamaha keyboards are) AND have an CC pedal input. A very quick Google of 'Yamaha P125 specs' reveals that this model does not have such an input and so will not work with an FC7. Your alternative option is to use an in-line stereo audio volume pedal, such as a Boss FV-500L. If you're intending to use the keyboard as a MIDI controller with a computer, you might also consider an external MIDI pedal interface, such as those made by Audiofront.

**Q: Can this pedal be used to trigger things like drum breaks or registration change or other assignable things?**
A: I assume that it will depend on what keyboard you have but to answer your question, Yes. I use mine on a Yamaha Genos and it can easily be programmed for most things that are assignable. In fact I use two for various functions.

**Q: Can this work with korg triton le? i connect it but it doesn't do anything**
A: Then you need to go into the settings of the Korg to change the setting as there are usually 2 setting to chose from but it will work you just need to set it correctly

**Q: Can this pedal be used with yamaha psr e433 keyboard?**
A: I am afraid not.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just buy one
*by L***R on 31 August 2025*

I play a variety of keyboards for gigs and the problem with expression pedals is consistency. What works with one keyboard doesn't always work well with another. That's why I've ended with some very expensive options from Korg, Boss, Hammond etc. The one problem I always come across is the range of expression - i.e. some of them appear to either be on or off with little variance in between. Even when adjusting the keyboard parameters it still feels lacking in the gradient of expression. After reading reviews I bit the bullet and bought the Yamaha. Wish I'd done it years earlier. Built like a brick outhouse, nice pedal travel and works well with the keyboards I use. I've started using a Viscount Legend Live and it sets up perfectly with this keyboard and the Motif I use alongside it.
