They keep the wound clean and germ free and do not harm the scab when it is forming as the new skin appears. They peal off very easily and are easy to apply.

**Q: Does it sting ?**
A: This stuff is brilliant  :) it's iodine based with a soft balm covering(which I think is a medical type of vasaline) easy to cut up for smaller areas,  it does not sting at all, it's soothing, healing and cleansing for your skin wound, put a nice dressing over the top that's padded and your good to go, love this stuff.

**Q: Is Inadine the same as lindocaine**
A: no.this is a rressing to go on ulcers..burns etc. lindocaine is numbing ointnent.

**Q: Does Inadine have Iodine in it**
A: It contains an iodine equavalent yes but 1%

**Q: do these dressings have a shelf life/use by date?**
A: Yes they do and on the box I purchased recently it is July 2017.
