I have inherited a variety of Singer scissors and they're all a little blunt..! :)** A: I have used it many times on scissors other than Fiskars. However i would say that the blades have been a similar modern style. This gadget is one of the best kept secrets that there is as it really does sharpen up the blades. With the Singer scissors, it is worth buying to try, if it doesnt work it will on all other cheap scissors to keep them going for years. **Q: One reviewer said "These sharpeners work just as well on most knives" can anyone please tell me how to sharpen a knife with the Fiskars Restorer?** A: You just run the knife against the sharpening stone in the middle. The angle of the plastic slot will grind one edge. For a knife you don’t need the middle slot obviously. That being said I wouldn’t use these on expensive chefs knives, it wouldn’t replace a wet stone, but for ordinary kitchen veg knifes it would be Ok, it’s smoother and more controllable than a standard knife sharpener I brought from Lakeland. **Q: Would you recommend this for sharpening the scissors on a Leatherman Micra?** A: Hi Gordon, Because of the design of this item I think it would sharpen any small scissors.
