## Description

This custom Nooelec SDR is a modified DVB-T USB dongle tuned for SDR usage, including upgraded crystal, capacitors and inductors compared to generic devices. Full compatibility with a large array of software packages, such as MATLAB, HDSDR, SDR Touch, SDR#, Planeplotter--too many to list. The perfect device for learning software defined radio, on the cheap. Amateur radio, ADS-B, police & fire scanning, trunking, satellite images--you name it, this little guy can probably do it. Outperforms many devices 10x its cost! These units are based on the R820T tuner IC made by Rafael Micro. As such, they have a frequency capability of approximately 25MHz-1750MHz, though this can vary somewhat from unit to unit. There is also an RTL2832U IC on board of course, which acts as the demodulator and USB interface. The connector type on the antenna and USB board is MCX--male MCX on the antenna, female MCX on the SDR. There are plenty of adapter and adapter cables available in our store if you want to connect your favorite antenna! Want HF too? You can modify the dongle for HF reception, but it's not a great way of doing things. If you would like to do this please contact us and we'll be happy to walk you through it. However, we strongly recommend you take a look at our 'Ham It Up' upconverter which will let you listen all the way down to 100kHz or lower with impeccable sensitivity.

Review: Ideal for 433mhz weather stations in Home Assistant - Works brilliantly with home assistant - allowed me to pick up my 433mhz weather station using MQTT and feed the sensors directly into my dashboard. No more pesky seperate screen required! The device is fairly compact and just slots into your USB A port, the antena cable is quite short, i personally would have prefered it to be longer so that i could distance it away from the electronics, however you are very limited in distance with the included antenna. The device does get quite warm when left on 24/7 but nothing that would overly concerned me. Home assistant configuration was super easy with the RTL-HAOS add - i did find i needed to sort out the noise ratio with some YAML as the pre set formula didn't work well for me. Apart from that this really is a plug and play device. I am happy with it and would recommend it to others.

**Q: Can this unit tune and receive on 137mh/z for weather satellites?**
A: At present im using one these to rx acas aircraft on 133*** and decoding with a freeware software decoder on a laptop ,so google " RTL usb DVB " for sites , my advice put the dongle at the antenna end reducing sig loss in coax cable ,and set up 50k bandwidth usb ,use a fast comp/laptop as it will need to run the software decoder at same time .Dont expect the same results as a dedicated rx .(ie-Amateur Radio )

**Q: Will I be able to listen to the planes in my area**
A: Yes, if you google your areas approach radar frequency and local airports frequencies and input them into appropriate software it works very well. Just on a small antenna I can monitor birmingham airport from 20 miles away.

Is this waterproof or indoor use only?**
A: The unit is NOT waterproof. It could be used in a car with a laptop, etc.  If the weather is dry and no high humidity or rain you could use it outdoors.

I'm a novice in the world of ADS-B receivers, and I was excited to try out the NESDR Mini (TV28T v2) USB RTL-SDR, DVB-T & ADS-B Receiver Set with Antenna. As someone new to this technology, I wanted a device that would be easy to use and perform well without breaking the bank. The NESDR Mini has exceeded my expectations. I've been using it with Flightaware, and so far, I'm impressed by its range. With the standard antenna included, I've been able to receive signals from aircraft up to 200-300 km away. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the NESDR Mini and its performance as an ADS-B receiver.
