I don't know if any of that is true, but I know one thing. This aftershave is so pleasant to use! The scent is traditional masculine but light and refreshing at the same time. There is a citrusy vibe overall with it, but quite some woody/spicy/floral goodness as well. It is such a good balance and I can't get enough of it. The effect lasts for very little, I would say around an hour, but this is expected for any shaving products in general. It also justifies the low price. The important thing is that it gives me that nice burn right after shaving and just before applying my moisturising shaving balm. Even more importantly though, it just makes me feel excited for shaving and super fresh before leaving the house. Not easy to wrap if giving as a gift but easy to cover with cardboard to disguise. **Q: Is this a spray bottle** A: No, not spray bottle but screw top with open neck bottle for splash on hands and then on face or wherever. **Q: is this Brut or a knockoff version?** A: Definitely the real thing. Used this product in the 60's and the current version has the same smell, feel and sense of nostalgia. Arrived in a box in time for my Saturday shower and shave. No I’m not going out but I still shower and shave at this time. I found the calming post shave effect satisfying and not as oily as my usual Jovan Musk. My skin certainly settled down. I’d say the scent compares with a very sweet, slightly minty violet breath freshener sweet although better than that. I’m writing this a little over two hours after I used it and the scent on my hands is still strong. So for an aftershave that’s pretty good. It goes without saying that value for money is top notch. As the ad says it smells good no messing about. Ok I like it and staying with it. If I ever get to go out again I’ll be replenishing the scent with Brut Original EDT.
