Now the good part is that by informing your water company of the meter's reading they will credit you with the volume of water recorded as this water is not being returned to them as waste water!

**Q: How do you fit this to a outside tap if you can’t let water flow down**
A: This meter is not designed to be fitted directly to an outside tap. When water flows down through the meter it will work, but accuracy will be reduced beyond the stated range. If you are using it with your outside tap we do offer a meter with male hose fittings. You could use that listing, along with some female hose fittings, to install the meter along a run of hose or at the end of the hose.

**Q: The dial has white and red numbers. How does one read the meter ?**
A: The red numbers are only decimal places of reading. Black numbers are whole M3 (cubic metres) 1 Cu M = 220 gallons

**Q: Does this product come with the unions?**
A: Hello, it comes with nuts tails and washers as can be seen in the photo.

**Q: hi just bought this meter ,it has a small type of red key on the side what is it for**
A: It's a tamper seal, so if it's damaged or removed you know somebody has tried to tamper with the meter/readings. i.e if you use this for sub billing a tenant etc.

I have it all connected and it does the job with a clear dial, but there were no instructions and I had to pay someone to come and fit it as my pipes on the outside tap were not compatible with the fittings provided.

Order arrived as promised, well packed, on time and in good condition. We plan to monitor our water use for a month and then find out from water authority what that usage would cost if we have a water meter installed by the Authority, so that we can see if we will save money against the current water rates. This is an economical method of self-assessing our water use.
