Made from sustainable British Herdwick fleece, it installs in seconds without tools, fits a variety of chimney shapes, and prevents soot and debris from entering your home. With a discreet design and eco-conscious production, it’s a natural, effective solution to reduce heat loss and enhance winter comfort. ## Features - An open chimney draws warm air out of the room and pulls cold draughts down, right through winter. This Herdwick wool pad sits in the flue above the fireplace, blocks that airflow, and the room warms up noticeably and holds its heat. - Wool felt stops the draught while still letting the chimney breathe, so it works on a disused fireplace without trapping damp or condensation behind it. It also keeps soot, dust and the odd stray bird out of the room. - Getting the size right is what makes it seal, and it's the usual reason for a return. Measure your opening front to back and side to side, then pick the size whose fit range matches. Round, square and oblong sizes are all covered. - It fits by hand in seconds, no tools, and sits neatly out of sight. Take it out before you light a fire, and the reminder tag hangs into the hearth so nobody forgets. Moth-proofed and reusable for years. It stores in the Chimney Sheep Wrap. - Made in Cumbria from British Herdwick fleece,. A natural, effective way to cut heat loss, and 10% of profit goes to Buy Land Plant Trees CIC. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B009ECU2QW | | Best Sellers Rank | 14,443 in DIY & Tools (See Top 100 in DIY & Tools) 3 in Chimneys | | Brand Name | Chimney Sheep | | Colour | All Grey | | Country Of Origin | United Kingdom | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars (819) 4.5 out of 5 stars | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00700115980197 | | Included Components | Chimney Sheep 6 x 16 inch oblong chimney draught excluder | | Item Dimensions L X W X Thickness | 15.2L x 15W x 15Th centimetres | | Item Highlight | Fits Openings 3-5in Deep by 10-15in Wide, Breathable Herdwick Felt, Lifts Out in Seconds | | Item Type Name | Chimney Draught Excluder | | Item Weight | 227 g | | Manufacturer | Chimney Sheep | | Manufacturer Part Number | CA024 | | Material Type | Wool | | Maximum Gap Fill | 5 Inches | | Model Number | CA024 | | Number Of Items | 1 | | Number Of Pieces | 1 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Upc | 700115980197 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Chimney Sheep - **Colour:** All Grey - **Material:** Wool - **Maximum gap fill:** 5 Inches - **Product dimensions:** 15.2L x 15W x 15Th centimetres ## Images ![Chimney Sheep 6 x 16 Inch Wool Chimney Draught Excluder & Blocker - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/717t1jofVZL.jpg) ![Chimney Sheep 6 x 16 Inch Wool Chimney Draught Excluder & Blocker - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41hCv0ctVCL.jpg) ![Chimney Sheep 6 x 16 Inch Wool Chimney Draught Excluder & Blocker - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/315EJ7u8Y-L.jpg) ![Chimney Sheep 6 x 16 Inch Wool Chimney Draught Excluder & Blocker - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81IwSbNTjpL.jpg) ![Chimney Sheep 6 x 16 Inch Wool Chimney Draught Excluder & Blocker - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71xviFTPF4L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: If I burn candles in an unused fireplace can i leave this in place?** A: I personally wouldn’t advise this. **Q: Hi how do I return for a refund please? Size is too small** A: Just go on to "Your Orders" and click item. Then you will be offered different options **Q: How do i measure for correct size/shape** A: It's easier if you've got a head torch then you can use both hands for measuring. Measure the distance front to back and side to side. Then choose a Chimney Sheep that's a couple of inches / 5cm bigger on each dimension. There's a sizing chart among the additional product pictures or more info if you need it on the Chimney Sheep website. If you're still not sure give us a call, we're happy to chat about chimneys even if you go back to Amazon to make the purchase :-) **Q: Does it matter if it gets wet? Water comes down our chimney in heavy rain.** A: I can't see that it matters; chimney sheep is made of wool/mixed fibres which can be dried out easily. However, the device will sag if soaked in water and will, therefore, fall from its position in the chimney flue. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic!! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 March 2025* Fantastic!! I had a plastic balloon type chimney blocker that just failed over time. The draught coming down the unused chimney made the room cold especially on the floor. My chimney opening I think is not a standard size. 12”x2” the website said this wouldn’t fit but I took a punt on it anyway and managed to push it through the opening then pull it back to ‘seal’. Worked great. Absolutely no draught but still breathable. Would give six stars if I could. A bit pricey but worth it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stops draughts! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 6 May 2025* Sturdy and works well, noticeable difference in the temperature of the room once in use (not when the fire was on of course!!). Has a handy tag to clip to the handle as a visual aid to remind you to remove it before lighting a fire, which you need more than you realise. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 31 March 2021* It was a bit of a shame that there weren’t more side options as my chimney opening is very slim but I purchased based on the size guide and it does the job.Because it’s a bit big, you can see it when looking at the fireplace but I don’t mind that really because it’s fairly inconspicuous and better than the towel we bunged up there before.Tried to check if it would fit in the plastic which was kind of impossible, but out of the plastic it was more mailable and was able to squeeze it up there. It’s doing a fabulous job of keeping the draught at bay! ## Frequently Bought Together - 6 x 16 inch Chimney Sheep Chimney Draught Excluder - 9 x 16 Chimney Draught Excluder - 12 x 20 inch Chimney Sheep Chimney Draught Excluder --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ae/products/48673379-chimney-sheep-6-x-16-inch-wool-chimney-draught-excluder](https://www.desertcart.ae/products/48673379-chimney-sheep-6-x-16-inch-wool-chimney-draught-excluder) --- *Product available on Desertcart United Arab Emirates* *Store origin: AE* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
