Looks and feels like a solid product that seems like it will last the time. Nice clicking on-off, although slightly slow to respond in turning the light on, say 1-2 seconds until you get to the brightness you last my used it at (definitely not as quick as a standard wall switch). Not a big issue and probably something to be expected when used with dimmable LED bulbs. No idea if it'll say much money/energy usage but we needed it for the nursery room so that it's not too bright when changing nappies etc. Review: Did the job... - Did the job - in conjunction with some dimmable LEDs - that I bought it for. As the choice of this type of dimmer was limited (at least when considering positive reviews) I bought it assuming the chrome knob would detach - which it did. I paid a couple of pounds extra for this version with the aluminium button, but that's purely personal preference. I'm using it to control a 34W fitting and it works a treat. As you may be aware there are some clever electronics inside which give two options for LED usage - Mode 1 (default) & Mode 3. It's easy to switch between the two - but only if you know the secret 'combination' - so read (and retain!) the instructions or look at the [somewhat protracted] video on the Varilight website first.
