## Description

Product Description The epic story of LOST twists, turns and time-shifts in its outstanding fifth season. Packed with bonus material, including a revealing interview with the cast and an exclusive behind-the-scenes feature, LOST is better than ever on DVD. When destiny calls, the Oceanic 6 find their way back to the island. Discover what forced them to return, and find out the fate of all those who were left behind. The answers to some of LOST’s most pressing questions are revealed in this spectacular 5-disc collection, complete with deleted scenes and an incredible vault of exclusive bonus features. desertcart.co.uk Review Since Lost made its debut as a cult phenomenon in 2004, certain things seemed inconceivable. In its fourth year, some of those things, like a rescue, came to pass. The season ended with Locke (Terry O'Quinn) attempting to persuade the Oceanic Six to return, but he dies before that can happen--or so it appears--and where Jack (Matthew Fox) used to lead, Ben (Emmy nominee Michael Emerson) now takes the reins and convinces the survivors to fulfill Locke's wish. As producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse state in their commentary on the fifth-season premiere, "We're doing time travel this year", and the pile-up of flashbacks and flash-forwards will make even the most dedicated fan dizzy. Ben, Jack, Hurley (Jorge Garcia), Sayid (Naveen Andrews), Sun (Yunjin Kim), and Kate (Evangeline Lilly) arrive to find that Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) have been part of the Dharma Initiative for three years. The writers also clarify the roles that Richard (Nestor Carbonell) and Daniel (Jeremy Davies) play in the island's master plan, setting the stage for the prophecies of Daniel's mother, Eloise Hawking (Fionnula Flanagan), to play a bigger part in the sixth and final season. Dozens of other players flit in and out, some never to return. A few, such as Jin (Daniel Dae Kim), live again in the past. Lost could've wrapped things up in five years, as The Wire did, but the show continues to excite and surprise. As Lindelof and Cuse admit in the commentary, there's a "fine line between confusion and mystery", adding, "it makes more sense if you're drunk". --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Review: The greatest television series ever! - The X-Files use to be my favourite television series, I have every season on dvd, and honestly believed that nothing would ever replace it as my no 1 show; and then Lost came along and completely blew me away. The first season was impressive and it has just gone from strength to strength. I doubted that it could get any better after the first season and wondered how the story could continue, but every season has been consistently good, and the way the story has been unfolding, has just been mind blowing. Presumably you have already watched previous seasons of Lost, if you are reading this review; in which case, what are you waiting for?! If it hasn't captured your imagination already, then words fail me. If however, you have never had the privilege to watch Lost, I would strongly suuggest that you watch the previous seasons before embarking on Season 5, as they put everything in to context. It might seem at the time that the producers are just making things up as they go along but everything fits together like a jigsaw puzzle. In essence, the series is about a group of people who survive a plane crash on an island but it's not an ordinary island, it's practically invisible to the world and has unusual qualities, such as polar bears (in a practically tropical climate!) and the ability to heal wounds quickly. As well as the story that unfolds on the island, the survivors have flashbacks to their lives before arriving on the island and it seems that they are all connected in some way, with many of them unknowingly crossing paths with other survivors. There are also a lot of 'main characters' in the show, it's difficult to choose a favourite as there are so many contenders. I can only describe the show as jaw dropping with some of the revelations. I can't articulate how brilliant this show is, it has to be watched! In terms of Season 5 itself, it's a great season which provides a lot of answers! I was a little bit confused at the time it was on television, with all the time travel that goes on, but it all becomes clear after a while. It's going to be emotional when the last season airs in 2010 as I feel like I've been on this epic journey with the characters and I don't want it to end. Having said that, every season has been superb and I would hate for the producers to let the quality slide so let's hope season six ends with a bang!
Review: Love it or hate it... - Lost. A Marmite show. You either love it or hate it. As for me I'm the former. Bought this season to replace a damaged disc, I find the show much more enjoyable if you're somewhat Squiffy. Handle with care, the motto for your disc collection. Boxset is slow to load and the boxset is a different size to other Lost boxsets in my collection. Must have been re-released? Ah well on with the show.... High Definition version, improved picture. The DTS soundtrack is exceptional. Just slightly slow to load. If you're reading this you must have LOST something as well.....

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LOST at its best!
*by J***N on 29 November 2009*

Easily Lost's best year - the story really unravels in this fast paced, action packed season bursting with mythology. We finally get answers to some key questions like "Why were the survivors never rescued," and "Who, exactly is Jacob?." We also get the long awaited back stories of Danielle Rousseau, the Dharma initiative and the freighter folk with the help of (more than a little) time-travel. This season's main themes include death, leadership and and of course, the $60, 0000 dollar question, "Is it possible to change to the future?" Highly reccomended to anyone who enjoys quality television, LOST really knows how to push boundaries! The special features are great too: Michael Emerson takes you on a tour of the writer's offices in LA while Nestor Carbonell (aka Richard Alpert) takes you with him as he films the finale in Hawaii. There's also a special 'Mysteries of the Universe' video, deleted scenes, bloopers and more.
