## Description

Adoro Silent Sticks - SSX - Quiet Drum Sticks - Drumsticks for Acoustic Music - Quiet Sticks with Full Sound (No More Drum Shield or Drum Pad) - 1 Set : desertcart.ae: Musical Instruments

Review: I have been using Adoro Silent Sticks for some time now. They have been a very good quiet practice and small space gig drum stick. The sticks I recently received are their newer model. The grips are a little more substantial and the tip is a new and upgraded design (see photo). Same quieter sound, but a more resilient tip. I believe these are good drum sticks for the money. In fact, I decided to also try the Adoro heads on my acoustic set and have found them to be a good investment.
Review: Espectaculares. Buen agarre, rebote similar al de una baqueta normal. Reduce bastante el sonido sobre los pads de mi batería electrónica. Un acierto.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: There seems to be a difference between color/version. Is there actually a difference that makes one color better for acoustic over electric?**
A: Thanks for the question -we have four stick models in total, and all differ in weight and handling. The SSX model has a firm thick shaft the size of a 5A stick and a firm tip. The SSE e-drum model has a bit thicker but softer grip, is slightly lighter overall and has a softer tip, both to reduce and absorb shockwaves from rubber pads. Here at Amazon USA these are the only versions available.

**Q: What if you add slient drum heads and cymbals well useing the the sticks and slient bass drum beater?**
A: I am very happy with these sticks. If you get silent heads and a silent bass, drum beater you’ll be in great shape. For near silent practice. To further reduce the volume of my bass drum, I use some type of screw on pad. I think Evans makes one.

To be clear, these will never replace my favorite sticks. But even though I am generally not very heavy handed with my sticks and have learned to play with controlled dynamics, sometimes certain requested songs really need that "full drum" sound, but the volume standard set by the venue makes it difficult to use sticks. And I'm not a fan of using brushes, broom brushes, rutes, etc. purely for volume control as they shift the timber/tone of the kit significantly...and not all musical contexts lend itself to their effects. Thus enter these so called "Silent Sticks". What I like: 1) They do their job while still allowing for a fairly full drum sound. Whether riding on the cymbal/hats, playing tom grooves, disco patterns, half-hat punk patterns...these sticks delivered. I even had folks come up and compliment me on how well the drums balanced well with the rest of the band and in the room. They would inspect my setup. The playing cut through the band, but did not overwhelm the venue. 2) They are lighter than 7As, BUT they still have weight thanks to the rubber grips that make it feel like I am still swinging something. 3) They retain a good rebound and don't feel dead on the strike. You can double stroke on it or do a hihat mohler technique easy enough. 4) Aesthetically, I find them pleasing and professional looking. I know what matters most is the sound and handling, but this added cherry on top is welcome. 5) It pairs well with the RhythmBytes Groove Lite small venue cymbals as well as my Paiste PSTX's. I can get doesn't crashes with them let alone decent riding sounds, too. However, be mindful of...: 1) You can only really strike anything with the tip. For example, the abs plastic is a hollow tube, so to crash a cymbal with the shaft risks breaking it. It even warns you about that in the packaging. So as long as you use as intended by them, they will last. That said, I do get good crashing results with the tip...and if you pair them with thinner cymbals like Paiste PstX's you can have massive control over volume while retaining a good quality sound. 2). My usual grip is traditional, but these sticks seemed to not work well with me in that group. So I switch over to match grip. No biggie. Traditional tends to get me a thinner result with them. 3) With regular sticks, you can shift the timber/tone depending on where on the head you strike. With these ones, you are pretty much limited to staying at the center of the drum of you wish to maintain a good usable tone. 4). Though you can do multi-stroke rules, I wouldn't generally advise it as the results sound too weak. Single strokes provide the tone I am looking for. So you'll get very comfortable doing 16th's on singles. 5) To get the best tone, you do need to provide a strong stroke. All in all, they aren't my favorite sticks! But they are my favorite sticks for situations where I need to tame even my controlled playing. In fact, I will be ordering a new pair that way even if one breaks, I'll have more ready. It has become a necessary part of my toolkit.
