The relay will keep the load(amps) of the lights away from the switch. **Q: I just bought the rigid Flood beam version so Which is better, install it to the roof rack or the bumper?** A: 100% agree that flood light will reflect off your hood. Best off in front of vehicle. Spot lights on Top roof or A pillar-No glare are very little. **Q: A 40 amp relay harness would be saft to wore 4 pods?** A: Yes, plenty. Each pod is only around 2 amps. So four of them would be around 8 amps. Making a 40 amp harness overkill but fine. Even a 20 or 15 amp would be plenty.
