This is a vegetable fat for use in cooking, baking and frying that can be used in place of butter or margarine. **Q: What is the expiry date?** A: Although it does have a sell-by-date on it, I can confirm that this stuff would probably outlast the zombie apocalypse. Legally companies have to put sell-bys on a product, but this certainly lasts and lasts. Unopened it won't oxidise for a very long time. I was visiting the US earlier this year and an American friend pulled out one that was five years past its sell-by-date, and proceeded to make a gorgeous fluffy pastry with it.
