Review: Ignore the bad stuff, it works! - If you are going to purchase this product you have to be aware that it doesn't come with will power! This kit does work but it takes persistence! We have two cats which we trained from kittens, one got it completely after about four months, the other over a year but I still maintain it's miles easier than cleaning out a stinky litter tray! I would advise always treating the cat afterwards, mine are so well trained now they meow to call you up to tell you they've been as they want their treats! I agree it is pretty flimsy material but from kitten size to junior it's absolutely fine. Hopefully if training went well you wouldn't need it when they are big anyway!

About halfway with training and she seems to be slowly learning how to balance, I think this has more to do with the personality of my cat than the product. The only major downfall with this is the flimsy quality of the material as on a few occasions the tray has buckled in and scared my cat which knocked her confidence and set back training , I have a very small cat so his would definitely not be ideal with medium to large cats unless you make it stronger which i did by inserting the back up tray and adding a wooden splint to the back section to support the tray better and this has worked so far. This would be an amazing product if the plastic was thicker and the section easier to cut out as this does leave sharp edges. Overall easy to clean , the catnip supplied was good to get her interested in the beginning fast delivery from seller a plus

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have two cats with 5kg (11lbs) and she's really big. Will this support their weight and size? Thank you**
A: You have to put the seat over the plastic tray and it will be fine! I have 2 maine coon cats each over 7 kg! Good luck, needs patience and love! You know you have to put their normal cat tray on the toilet first so they get use to getting up on the toilet and when they are happy with this you can start putting the plastic tray on, I had to cut out 2 rings right in the beginning in order not to collect and then having it all on their long fur!

**Q: if you move house or leave with someone else to care for while away would you need to re-train?**
A: Hi we moved house since training the cat and it wasn't a problem. When we moved we did put the white piece on the lop so it would have his scent and it was not s problem guess it would work if the cat went to a friend for cat sitting too. We tend to get someone in to cat sit at home or at least come in daily to feed and water,

**Q: I have eight cats but only one toilet (wash n blow dry one). Will it work with that many cats and will it work with our toilet? Xxx**
A: Hi there,

I put my cat's litter tray in the bathroom, close to the toilet first - so he got used to the idea of it being there. He was about 8 years old when I trained him.

I changed his litter to biodegradable wood-pellets that fall apart when wet.
I then put the pellets into the CityKitty on the floor for a few days.
I transferred it onto the loo afterwards and showed him and encouraged him to be on it - by giving him extra attention, putting treats on the loo seat.
He started to go to the loo on the toilet and got used to having to jump up and work out the loo-seat being there too.
I had a couple of "dirty protests" like poo in the bath-tub and he would run up and down the stairs in a huff before going. :) ...but he adjusted.
After a week or so I made the first hole in the CityKitty. Then it was easy to progress with it until I didn't need to have the CityKitty at all on the loo.

I had to move him at one point and he had to have a litter tray again for a while, which was fine. Then a did a quicker re-training with CityKitty and it worked again - just like cats riding bicycles! ;)

When my cat got older, I had to put a foot stool for him to step up onto the toilet because he had bad arthritis, but he adjusted to that too. :)

What I might suggest with multiple cats is to have maybe a couple of CityKitty trays in the loo on the floor at first (not just one) because you can't put that much litter into it. Also, the cats need to want to go to the loo in it. ...so it gives you more chance for them to get a clean tray if there is more than one. But, in the end... once you get them onto the loo and have the hole in... it should be fine.

I'm not sure about how your toilet operates, but I hope this helps.

**Q: How many stages does this include?**
A: The 'stages' just consist of cutting out increasingly bigger perforated holes in the single thin plastic tray which fits over the toilet bowl. There is also a second insert which you can use if the cat needs to go back a step or two. With regard to some of the other answers to this question:I started training my cat when he was a kitten (and needed a step to get up onto the toilet) so the tray could easily support his weight - but I can see with an older, heavier cat, the tray might be too flexible.I also fitted a toilet seat with a built-in toddler training seat (Vinsani TM ADULT CHILD POTTY TRAINING FAMILY SOFT CLOSE TOILET SEAT -http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00545KF7O?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00) so the size of the final hole was quite a bit smaller than the toilet bowl for the cat, and so the toddler seat can be raised out of the way for more hygienic human use.I work from home, so I was able to dedicate quite a lot of time to encouraging and rewarding my 'indoor' cat and eventually the 'kit' did work and I am happy I don't have to bother with the expense and messiness of cat litter... BUT I still believe it's basically against cats' natural instinct to scratch and cover so I'm not sure it would always be successful.Hope this is helpful.

### ⭐ About as useful as coat for the fish
*by T***E on 14 July 2017*

We bought it as we recently moved and have no acces to garden any more. It seem like good idea to train our cat to toilet as addition to litter. Well let me tell you whoever get this idea was pure madman that never owned a cat. We had cats in past that used toilet but it was all on their devices. to acctually train cat to using toilet is very slow and frustrating process (cats aint the most obediant pets). It may be ok for some other people but if your cat dont like this idea of using toilet you will have hard time to convince her. On top of all that if you finaly do train her I can guarantee that ONE think will go wrong ONE Thing - cat slip in toilet, falls out of toilet, get spooked by toilet, etc. (you name it) and you are back to sqaure ONE. So yeah its this good device and easy to use? Yep it is. Is this a good idea? Definately not (at least not for every cat)
