It works best with inverted legs since the outer section of the leg will raise with the desk. It will also fit perfectly fine on regular legs, but on height adjustable desks where the outer section stays down, it won't raise with the desk. It feels powder coated and so far I have not been able to damage the finish moving it around. My only complaint is its smaller than I expected, if your expecting it to fix a standard ATX case, It will fit, but its very tight and requires some forcing to make it work. Something to consider before you buy. I didn't lose any paint because of it, but its a chore to get it lined up. All the threaded holes where easy to start. and once you get it in place it very solid.
