This is only for computers that don't automatically install the driver and any modern computer will install the driver as soon as you plug the USB in. This driver however only allows the computer to recognise the controller, it doesn't magically assign button mapping to it.You need to actually go to a website and download a button mapping program. I use the program Xpadder because it's lightweight and simple. There are also many tutorials on how to set up and use Xpadder which I highly suggest using. This may take an extra 10-15 minutes but you only have to do this once and it's done.This controller is less than £10. You get what you pay for and in my opinion it's exceptional value for money. Just be aware before buying this product that you need to use additional software to map the buttons, but once you've done that it'll work perfectly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works perfectly *by S***N on 9 July 2018* Good product, works perfectly and seamlessly with the console. Thought I would have trouble with it as it’s not brand named but it’s been no problem at all.Sometimes the buttons get stuck, but that’s a very minor issue and hardly effects usage ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not too terrible, but not what I call perfect *by S***E on 6 December 2021* So, I'm happy to say this works most the time. It does occasionally fail to be detected by what I'm playing but I can fix that quickly. Seriously, people, BIND THE KEYS. You can't plug this in and expect it to magically know how to control your game. Now, I'm a little worried about the lifespan of this controller, it feels... Disturbingly flimsy. Like picking up a piece of paper, I'm worried it'll snap if I sneeze, so I'm hoping it'll prove me wrong. The buttons do sometimes fail to respond but, again, that could be the things I play and not the controller. Both sticks work great and this is all on Win7. Didn't even need the minidisc, drivers kicked in the second I plugged it in.It's got a few teething problems but, honestly, very good. But, again, bind your keys. Pretty sure that's the solution to like 99% of the complaints here. I had to bind it to all the things I played, took like 30 seconds. Do it and enjoy.Edit: Okay, I kinda found an issue. As you know, games use the X button a lot. Jumping, action, attacking, so I've been hammering the X (or in this case, Blue 3) a lot.... Today, I just found it's depressed permanently. After opening it up, I found the rubber responsible for pushing the button back out and protecting the circuit board from damage had snapped. It wore down to the point that it literally just left a hole where it should be. This, if you couldn't guess, isn't normal. They shouldn't break, especially given other unofficial controllers I used for the PS2 in my youth have never had this sort of thing happen. So, for that, I'm removing a star from my review. I got a good few months of fun out of this, but this problem is a deal breaker for certain games.
