## Overview

The Gravity Analog Turbidity Sensor by DFRobot is a high-performance water quality monitor compatible with popular microcontrollers including Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and Raspberry Pi. It offers dual analog and digital outputs, a broad turbidity detection range of 0-4000 NTU, and a rapid response time under 500 milliseconds. Designed for environmental monitoring, scientific research, and industrial applications, this sensor delivers reliable turbidity measurements with ±5% accuracy, supported by detailed tutorials for easy integration.

## Description

INTRODUCTION The arduino turbidity sensor detects water quality by measuring level of turbidity. It is able to detect suspended particles in water by measuring the light transmittance and scattering rate which changes with the amount of total suspended solids (TSS) in water. As the TTS increases, the liquid turbidity level increases. This arduino turbidity sensor have both analog and digital signal output modes. You can select the mode according to the MCU as threshold is adjustable in digital signal mode. Turbidity sensors can be used in measurement of water quality in rivers and streams, wastewater and effluent measurements, sediment transport research and laboratory measurements. Please note that the top of probe is not waterproof! SPECIFICATION Operating Voltage: 5V DC Operating Current: 40mA (MAX) Response Time: <500ms Insulation Resistance: 100M (Min) Output Method:Analog Analog output: 0-4.5V Digital Output: High/Low level signal (you can adjust the threshold value by adjusting the potentiometer) Operating Temperature: 5℃~90 ℃ Storage Temperature: -10℃~90℃ Weight: 30g Adapter Dimensions: 38*28*10mm/1.5 *1.1*0.4inches SHIPPING LIST Turbidity sensor adapter x1 Turbidity sensor probe x1 Turbidity sensor cable x1 Gravity analog sensor cable x1

Review: Device works nice. No complaints - This is basically the exact same part you'll see in the bottom of your dishwasher, but broken out for generic usage. Device works nice. No complaints, and there's documentation floating around on the internet about it.
Review: Turbidity meter use - I was hoping to use for reasonable turbidity reading for nearly clear lake water. Inaccurate at low levels and reading drifts.

## Features

- Easy to Use: This Turbidity Sensor is compatible with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and Raspberry Pi (ADC Required).
- Dual Signal Output: Supports both Analog (0-4.5V) and Digital (High/Low) modes for flexible integration.
- Fast Detection: Detects turbidity levels from 0-4000NTU with a fast response time of <500ms, suitable for various applications including rivers, streams, wastewater and effluent measurements, sediment transport research, and laboratory measurements.
- Detailed Tutorials: Find comprehensive tutorials for using this Turbidity Sensor on the DFRobot Official website.
- Usage Note: Avoid fully submerging the sensor in water. Place the small round head of the split parts into the water for measurement. Please be aware that the top of the probe is not waterproof.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Every turbidity tester costs $ 250+, so how does this sensor is priced $ 15?**
A: This sensor cannot be used as professional equipment due to the low-precision, you can use it in experimental project and laboratory measurements.

**Q: Is the dac pcb necessary if i just want to use it in analog mode with my arduino?**
A: Yes, you need to simulate the pattern with A

**Q: Does this come with the cable for connecting to arduino?**
A: It comes with a gravity 3-pin female cable, which will be easy to connect to our IO expansion shield, if your arduino is UNO, you still need to use three more male-male jumper wire.

**Q: will this work on 3.3V as well?**
A: No, this analog turbidity sensor needs to operate at 5V.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Turbidity meter use

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another great sensor
*by M***T on October 10, 2020*

I use loads of sensors and really enjoy building electronic gadgets. I have this connected to and ESP32, with 2 DS18b20 temp sensors, a PH sensor, 2 ultrasonic sensors, light sensors and this turbidity sensor. Purpose, to monitor my pond, and filtration system. There is nothing worse than the pump failing, water levels dropping or rising too high, UV failure - or bad PH levels. Linked up to a dashboard on Blynk i will know exactly whats going on even when I'm not home - once i get it all installed.
