Art Clay Silver 650/1200 Low Fire Clay is a 20g eco-friendly precious metal clay combining easy moldability, slow drying, and low-temperature firing at 650°C. It transforms into pure, hallmarkable silver with 8-9% shrinkage, perfect for professional-quality jewelry and intricate designs, compatible with kiln, torch, or gas stove firing.

## Description

Art Clay Silver is a precious metal clay that looks and feels like ordinary sculpting or porcelain clay, with fine particles of pure silver mixed with a non-toxic organic binder. When fired, the binder burns out, leaving a fine silver piece that can be hallmarked as fine silver. This 20gm Silver Clay is a new formulated silver metal clay combining the best features from the 3 former types of Art clay - easy moulding from the Original Formula, slow drying from the Slow Dry Formula, and a low firing temperature from the 650 range of Art Clay. The new silver clay formula has a better workability and longer working time, retains and accepts moisture easier than existing Art Clay types, staying supple and easier to reconstitute, and also carves and files easier in the dry stage. This art clay silver can be used with a kiln, torch or gas stove, for 30 minutes at 650°C or 5 minutes at 800°C. Shrinkage is 8-9%. This is an eco-friendly metal clay silver, containing recycled silver.

**Q: Hi after firing, can this be considered a sterling silver? Thank you**
A: It's actually Fine Silver 999 (Assay will hallmark it as Fine Silver), so slightly softer after firing than Sterling 925.

**Q: Hi could you please tell me if you need a kiln for this clay, or if any other special equipment is needed to be able to use this?**
A: Hi, no kiln needed you can use gas cooker or gas silversmithing torch if you intend to use gascooker please remember to use a wire mesh  or a fire brick if using a torch , also once you have designed your piece ready for firing you must let it dry first then fire or your work will crack when firing. Hopd you have found this helpful and just to say this is a brilliant medium to work with.

A: Hi, I was sent silver clay not paste, think they just used the wrong description.

**Q: What is the shelf life of this product?**
A: Unopened it has a very long shelf life. Once opened I try and use the whole packet within days. You can get specialised pots which cost about £6 to store it in to keep it moist and you can rehydrate the product if it dries out.
