## Description

This miniature civil war cannon is typical of the field cannons used by both sides in the conflict. At less than 7 1/2 inches long, this piece is part of a series of famous cannon miniatures from Denix that are ideal for wargamers or collectors.

Review: Typical Denix product ... well done ... but less than great detailing -- UPDATE! - I had purchased the Denix Naval deck cannon and was extremely pleased with it. I used to buld highly detailed scale models and can recognize at least fair model quality. I haven't checked for any actual scale dimensions, nor am I any expert, but this model appears to be on the small side as compared to scale of the Naval cannon. Also, the finish is a silvery metallic surface -- except for the nicely done faux 'brass' barrel/cannon itself. I plan to attempt to color/paint the carriage and wheels in a wood-like finish to better approximate the original. This as-built metallic finish looks really strange, peculiar, to me. Just doesn't work. Overall, as this appears to be some kind of pot metal casting, if you're looking for fine detail, this isn't it. But .... generally, it's executed well enough to be enjoyable to study. As to attempting to actually "shoot" this decoration? Total lunacy! Like building a plaster cast of a rifle and attempting to fire an actual cartridge from same!!! DO NOT attempt this. Packaging? Though the model appears fragile, I would rate packaging as excellent!! Appeared that great care was taken in shipping preparation. Very well cushioned, well isolated from crush/impact damage I would judge. The product arrived in perfect, flawless condition with no damage to product OR its protective packaging. And yes .... I do plan to purchase a seond one, just for display. Okay .... and here is update. I just received the second of two of these I'd planned to order. Like the first, it arrived in perfect, flowless condition. Well packaged, cushioned, contained in two boxes, outer, and inner. The pair create an impressive display. Pleased with both products.

A: Well, I wouldn't, but if someone had good enough insurance and a big disregard for their eyes and appendages anything is possible I guess.
