After removing the centre allen key I found the code HG 94282. at which point I rang the local plumbers merchants who "don't stock Hansgrohe" - so on to desertcart who delivered the following day (Sunday). So a couple of learnings - I didn't need to switch off the water supply before removing the centre allen key - the HG 94282 fits a lot of shower units, including other brands - this unit needs a 24mm wrench - and my socket set fit over the top of the piece that protrudes - anti-clockwise to remove - mine had been there for 15 years so it was pretty tight - you will need to switch off the mains water and drain the tanks before switching ! had a lovely hot bath after replacing ! Review: Perfect replacement at a reasonable price. - i was a little concerned about this being the right spare part but I should not have worried because it fitted my bath and shower unit perfectly and was very easy to fit. Don't bother with a plumber, fit it yourself. Other shower in the house is abundant, but shower with this piece struggles...** A: Just used this cartridge to replace one that was almost 20 years old. The new cartridge also had a lower water flow rate. SOLUTION: The water flow was great when I first turned on the valve but slowed as the water warmed up. Only thing I could figure was the hot water was too hot and the valve would only allow so much cold water (we live in San Diego area where the cold water is not really that cold) through it before it started turning down the volume of hot water in order to meet the temperature that was set. So I turned down the temperature on our hot water heater a little and it fixed the volume problem. Great flow rate now. It also made the volume in our other shower with the same valve much better. And it also stopped the vibration noise we had experienced in the other shower that I've heard others comment about.. Hope this helps. **Q: I have a Thermobalance 3 valve is this the right replacement?** A: I believe so, but the best thing to do is go to the Hansgrohe website and pull down the specs for the valve. Hot water is restored! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cartridge change after 23 years... *by R***6 on 24 October 2023* Well, we got a Hansgrohe shower installed when we built our house in 2000. Now, 23 years later we noticed very poor water flow after changing the shower pump. The plumber insisted the pump was working perfectly. So I investigated further and decided to see if i could order a replacement cartridge. Turns out these cartridges are still available! Granted its not cheap but after this long I'm amazed i can still order one. I removed the old one which i noticed was much heavier and covered with lime and calcium deposits. Installed the replacement and ... It works perfectly. Water flow restored. I'll post a new review in 2046 when i replace it again.
