## Description

Aquasteel is a unique corrosion control system developed by Bayer-Wood Technologies for use on rusted ferrous metal surfaces. It is a specially formulated rust converter and primer, specially tested against salt spray for sea-going vessels and offshore applications such as oil platform legs and has been designed for the most rigourous conditions. The product is designed for rusted metal on cars and boats, beams of buildings and architectural features. It is suitable for all home applications ranging from gates and metal fencing etc, it is also perfect for steel hulled boatds and pontoons and will extend the life of paint up to 3 times. It can be applied by spray or by brush for smaller applications. There is no preparation required, and the product can even be applied in damp conditions. This product is Manufactured in the UK, is NATO stock Listed, used extensively under continual rigourous applications. It is state of the Art and non-hazardous. Bayer-Wood Technologies is accredited both Environmental IS0 14001 and ISO 9001:2008. It is water-based and easy to use. Full instructions supplied with all orders. Review: What Rust? - Works very well. It's quite thick - single cream in thickness & looks. Easy to brush on in most places, but trickier to spray into the awkward areas where rust lurks. I managed to 'spray' it using a hand held 2ltr garden sprayer, not so much of a spray, as a stream. But it worked, even though I did manage to get quite a lot of it on me too, but at least it didn't make me black in colour, so I guess I'm not rusty. All the areas sprayed & brushed turned black mainly where there was rust, so it was easy to tell if I'd missed any bits. Mine came with a data sheet of safety measures, do's and don'ts, etc. I would recommend this product, especially as a 90ml bottle of rust converter is around £3,99. This is 2500ml (2.5 litres) - so if it came in 90ml bottles it would have cost me approximately £107! And it's a primer too, so I can paint directly over it, when it's dry. The temperature was about 15c & the sun was out, so it was all dry in a couple of hours, but I've left it for 24+hours to fully harden - as per instructions. I used it on an old box-trailer steel frame that's being refurbished.

**Q: Can you paint over it?**
A: Hi there yes you can give no more than 2 coats of rust prevtion then leave 24 hours and paint over it.Make sure yr either grind lose rust of first before using it.But yes it paints over with no problems and holds the rust back well When u paint it on its like a milky white very liquid like as it drys it goes very dark.Hope it was of use my reply

**Q: Can this be powder coated over**
A: I have never tried to powder coat over it, but I have painted over it with paints suitable for metal and found it to be very stable.
I don't think it would be a problem as it creates a chemical bond with the steel.
Perhaps contacting the manufacturer would give you a more definitive answer.

A: Yes, maximum 20 per cent water and add an extra coat.

**Q: Im renovating an old building which has a rebar reinforced concrete ceiling. Will this product seal the rebar ready to render on top**
A: It is a primer too, not just a rust converter as it is for metal work that needs treatment before you paint (railings and the like), so there will be a coating on the metal that seals the surface of the metal before you render

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Value for money

Great stuff, easy to apply. I just used a spray bottle ( not even pressured ) and a paint brush. It only goes black on rust so clean bolts and rubber not affected. I’ve painted the underside of my 4x4 and still have some left. 2.5l off this is about £10 more than 1l of 661 and they both do the same thing. Hopefully won’t need to reapply for a few years!
