I can see I can twist the cap but what setting should it be set to?** A: On my system, there is a separate small meter which registers the amount of filtered water left. After replacing the filter it gets reset to 600 so I do not have to do anything with the filter head. As far as I can see from looking at my filter head, there are just numbers 1, 2 and 3 which refer to the bits that connect to it. No settings involved. Sorry not to be more help. **Q: can you change the filter head yourself?** A: You can depending on your DIY skills! I got my plumber to fit ours. Quite straight forward. **Q: Can you use this with any Grohe kitchen tap?** A: Yes that’s why I bought it. It replaces the old style filter heads but pipe work is compatible. **Q: what is the external thread size? 1/2 or 3/8?** A: The external thread size is identical to to thread size of the water filter cartridge which it srews on to.
