Review: if carlsberg made a football game.......IT WOULD BE THIS - yes yes yes, now lets get it out the way, THIS IS NOT JUST AN UPDATE FIFA 10 TO RIP PEOPLE OFF! this is simply the best football game on any console, any version you will play. This is soo in depth authentic and just massive that it could not just be DLC for £15-£20. This is a brand new football game in its own right, and should be treated like that. The most important thing about any footy game is the actual gameplay, and this is the best part about 2010 World Cup. It is spot on. It removes every annoying thing that fifa 10 had, from offsides all the time, and in turn players movements are better, the players in the middle and general build up play can be smooth and you feel you have time on the pitch to execute passing play. It improves player likeness's, pitches, stadia everything. I have scored screamers, tap in's, flukes, and uploaded them to fifa online hub. It is better than fifa 10. The AI is so perfect this time around. I hate playing AI on football games, but this is the first time it feels real and authentic. If you play a weaker team they are indeed weaker, stronger team are stronger. Sounds simply but for me they have never got it right until now. Online play is smooth, fun and brill. I have played as everyone, from Honduros to England, Wales, Cameroon etc. I am currently Ecudor. I can beat the bigger team even though I am say Wales, the online world cup, is just fantastic, must have been through it about 20 times now, lol, but its just so absorbing, realistic. I have yet to win the online world cup, and so far really have avoided being the bigger teams for a challenge, and its enjoyable, it really is. You can do captain your country, a be like a pro mode, with up to four mates on a local 360. There are squad updates, will be future dlc, there is also option to edit teams yourself. You can replay famous stories and try to change history, these are very enjoyable. I am still to correct Henry's hand of cheat, but I will. Draw backs are few and far between, but I would say the penalty changes are to drastic and make it very hard to score from them. You now have a up and down bar to stop the pointer in the green bit, alongside that you must try and aimyour shot, aim to far( and you CANT see your aim) and you just slide over or smash it wide. For me they should have the pressure green bit, but should hhave left the aim part out. Another draw back for me is the pool of players. Now I do hope the squad updates deal with this, which I think they may, but with England I feel alot more players should have been added, ie KING DAWSON, A JOHNSON etc. I would also like a save squad selection featuer, so as not to have to spend a few mins before everygame switching players(online play) The game is so true and authentic to the world cup it is unreal. Gone are the boring menus of fifa. Introduced are bright colours, themed world cup music, news menus, in game scoreline, news tickers, just every thing to make you feel you are the boss of a country at the world cup. Overall this game is a 9 out of 10 for me. I love it. played it tonnes already, and will be playing it alot more in the future. If carlsberg made football games it would be 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP
Review: As close to the world cup as most of us are going to get!! - Well, having played nearly every football game since fifa 2003 (including pro evo), it was inevitable that there would be a World cup fifa game, and having purchased it without hesitation, i can say i am extreamly delighted with it. Having played Fifa 10 to death this game really does make the wait to the world cup that litle bit more bearable. As mentioned in many other reviews, the graphics are superb, with the "big" name players looking increadibly life like, much like in pro evo 2010, as are the manager models, and it is a masive improvement over fifa 10's player models. Also this game captures the feel of the tournament perfectly, from its party atmosphere, the confetti that litters the pitch before each game ( South America style) to the nitty gritty of a semi- final penalty shootout, where the fans of each competing nation genuenly look nervous, and every England fan will know this feeling far too familiarly over the years. This brings me to my next point, the crowd; they are a huge improvement over any football game ive ever played, waving flags, singing realsitic chants and even certain fan bands that accompany the teams ( England and nigeria to name two) Lets move on to gameplay, this game takes its main engine from that used in fifa 10, so will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has played that game, and thus you dont get the feeling that it has moved on a great deal, but with only 6 months since the release of fifa 10 who can blame them, however there are tweaks here and there, players feel less like they are skating on ice, which means that really quick players like Aaron lennon, Fernando Torres and Lionel Messi really can impact on a tight match with a burst of pace, again helping the realsim aspect of the game. There are all the modes you would expect from a Fifa World cup game, from playing a quick match, a real world cup, from qualifiying if you choose and online modes from a quick ranked game, or against friends to a Fifa world cup online against people around the world. There is also a captain you county mode (from euro 2008 game) and the " story of qualifying" which is a fantastic addition. Please note that all 199 teams are playable from the beggining except a world 11 which need to be unlocked Alas, there are a few minor "annoyances" shall we say, Goal keepers, who have also been improved over Fifa 10, can sometimes seem impossible to beat, one or two times, the referee has been completly biased which again can add to reasim, but is extreamly frustrating, but this is a very rare accurance, whith referees generally a little more picky than in fifa 10 especially for standing tackles (except in the box). The main "annoyance" i have is when playing a full international tournament from the qualification rounds, there are alot of friendly fixtures scheduled and there should be an option to skip these games, obviously you can forfiet the games once they have started but that isnt really in the spirit of things is it, this can make playing a full tournament somewhat of a chore. Players also get injuries before games in what the game calls "training", now i am an England fan and i know this is very realsitic but when your trying to get to he world cup with a weaker team and when your best player gets injured with no real reason, is very frustrating. In conclusion, this is a great game, if you are a football fan than definatly get this, but if you still feel happy and entertained with fifa 10, then mabye this is for the more, dedicated fans.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ great build up to the world cup!
*by S***Y on 1 May 2010*

i am a HUGE fan of the world cup and this game just adds up to the level of excitment of the real thing itself: Gameplay dont expect anything different here from fifa 10 most of it is the same apart from some new skills and some very strange celebrations! the only big difference this time round is the penelty shootouts, its allot more realistic with a composure meter with can make you tense as it could decide the game or even the cup! if you played the euro's 2008 game you would notice that captin your counrty mode has come back which lets you create a player or if you created one on fifa 10 allows you to import it, the biggest down side to this is that if you import your virtual pro from fifa 10 it doesnt take your stats with it so you will have to be starting again! not much of a bummer to me but i can see this annoying some people presentation in my opionion i think it looks better than fifa 10, players look allot sharper and eviroments look more realistic and the cut scenes make it like a real match giving you that better atmosphere sound new commentators!!! martin tyler and andy gray have me really bored these days so its good to hear from andy townsend and clive tyldesley, the noise from the crowd is allot better and when the stadium is rocking it really makes the matches better my verdict if you love fifa but are getting a bit bored of fifa 10 and wouldnt mind something new before fifa 11 comes out then this is for you, if your short of money and are thinking weather or not have a think because even though i love fifa there are allot of good games coming out this may! but 2010 fifa world cup is a great fun and a really enjoyable game. unlike fifa 10 it makes you wanna give everything youve got in every match to make sure you get to that final and lift that trophy and i bet scoring a last minute goal in the final will give you a buzz! anyway hopes this helps people
