I used it when skiing and hiking. The elastic band that does around the head adjusts to go over a ski helmet and adjusts down to be worn on my bare head for hiking. Excellent purchase. It also comes with the chest band, again adjusts to be worn over my winter coat and adjusts down to be worn with just a t-shirt when hiking. Two for one is a great purchase.
