The speed of the fan is variable. The fan is quiet. I use a clothes dryer, vent hose to move the air from the duct fan to outside. The unit has been in use for a year with no issues. Radon concentration dropped from approximately 12 pCI/l to approximately 2 pCI/l over a period of several weeks.
