Of course I use a drop net for the larger ones but I’ve been able to reel up then pier flip the smaller ones no issue. I bought the 7ft medium heavy and I couldn’t ask for more. I actually bought this rod because the 7ft medium heavy Abu Garcia Max SX I was using for this same type of fishing broke when I was casting a 1oz casting metal too hard. I was sad because I loved that combo but when this one arrived and I saw it had two tip sections, I tried fitting the extra tip on my broken Abu and it fit!!
