Once I cleaned it up I noticed several burrs on the adjustment mating surfaces that did not allow the two pieces to lock together square (poor quality control). I cleaned it up with a small file & file brush and mounted on my mini lathe then I put an edge on the tool. To my surprise it cut mild steel extremely well! Just be sure to run at a low RPM to avoid chatter.
