Review: Mic your instruments like a pro - The ol' fart writes another great book to impart his recording knowledge to us. I give it 5 stars. A lot of good information on tracking your instruments, especially about micing techniques. And some conversations with other recording engineer's giving their little tips and advice. I would also recommend Warren Huart's "Home Studio Recording", Karl Coryat's "Guerrilla Home Recording", and Mixerman's "Musician's Survival Guide" and you'll be all set to either record your own songs or other people's. If you are a musician you can use all this info to produce some of your own records until you can hire your own producer so you can really focus on the music.
