Decided to fit in non-standard configuration to completely negate any possibility of pulling out. First drilled out damaged thread with 4mm drill. Then bent each toothed end back against existing natural curve (using pliers) evenly such that bar is snug to just loose fit (needs to be even or the holes won’t line up. Then pushed bar in place underneath the lug (just drilled out). That way when you refit your socket or switch the screw will pull the bar tight against the lug. Had to hacksaw the provided screw to reduce length, but if you gently file the end to debur it will still engage fine and not damage new staged bush thread.
