    Good Multi Purpose Pedal

*by M***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2011*

This pedal gives you a variety of potential sounds, all very useful. The 2 wah sounds are great. If you are mostly interested in the "whammy" pitch effects, you probably are better off with a true Whammy pedal, especially the new edition of the Digitech Whammy that is being released. However, the whammy tool on this particular beast is fine for a basic tool and when one considers all the additional effects available on this one machine, you have a very helpful tool just waiting for you to explore and use. It's solid as a tank, but does not come with a battery pack, one has to plug it into a wall socket to work. It's fairly heavy, as well, so make sure you tuck it into a solid bag when you carry it around or keep it in the original box. You cannot store your experiments, as you twist the various dials to get the sound you like best, so you'll have to remember to keep some notes or you'll forget what you had. For example, if you spend some time bending over adjusting the thing while it is on the floor, or pick it up and sit it in your lap or something while it's plugged into your guitar/amp (both not comfortable to do), well, if you walk away and come back and find someone else has messed with it, you'll be a bit upset since you will have to readjust it all over again to get that sound you found. So keep a note pad and make notes as to where you left the dials after you get the sound you like best. Like all Digitech products, you get much more than you pay for, that is, the quality is always super high and the price super reasonable. Bottom line: worthy tool for you and this is the sort of tool that can make an intermediate player sound like an advanced player and let you grin like a fool while you "hide behind the effects" or take your sound to a much higher level.

    Great pedal for beginners

*by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2017*

This pedal was definitely worth the money. Though I rarely use it now, it's still fun to bust it out every now and then and play around with the cool effects it offers. I would recommend this pedal to any beginner or intermediate player who wants to expand their tone and also have a lot of cool options to play around with!

Why? Why would they do it?

*by B***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2006*

First of all, unless my unit is defective, you CAN NOT TURN OFF THE EFFECT MODEL and still use the distortion model! The heel switch turns off/on the distortion model(with effect model) and the toe switch turns off the effect model when the distortion model is disengaged so you're left with a straight, clean sound!I ask you, what good is that? Say I like the Wah with the Ibanez distortion model but I would like to actually turn OFF the Wah after a solo and continue playing using the distortion sound... NO GO! CAN'T DO IT!You want the distortion model on when you turn off an effect? Go buy a Distortion Factory to use WITH your EX-7 (another $100.00). You, like me, might think you're getting two independent models that can be combined or used singularly. Not so! I mean really, Why on God's green Earth would you want to design a unit like this?An unfathomable oversight or a really poor design choice. Such a shame. The sounds themselves are very good. The distortion models are great. The pitch shifter is far superior to the Digitech RP300's. No delay. Pedal travel is limited, there is no octave down function. The two Wah, Wah models are very good. The Leslie and Uni-Vibe are passable. No presets are stored except the distortion and effect combination. If you can find it for under $99.00 used, you can get yourself a decent pitch shifter and Wah, Wah. Personally I am very disappointed in the design. What were they thinking.
