After each section of new learning you can watch a signed conversation and/or presentation using the vocab learned. FIRST STEPS BSL STEP THREE - signs for days of the week, months and time lines, directions, work, hobbies, friends, things in the home and garden, pets and animals, emotions and feelings, 3 fingerspelling tests, 3 short stories. I've got to the end of the first DVD and can now remember everything on it (apart from the words to I can sing a rainbow! I can sign them, but I can't remember the lyrics to the middle bit!). Colin is an engaging teacher. Although some of the signing is very fast, I have replayed the DVD many times and am getting the hang of it. Practice makes perfect. I will hopefully be starting the BSL Level 1 course very soon and I believe going through these DVDs will give me a head start in terms of speed and understanding. I'm hoping to go on and be a teacher or classroom assistant, and this has really helped me feel that I could actually be able to do it. Many thanks to Colin and his student Sarah on what is an excellent DVD. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Get these DVDs to learn sign language *by C***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2013* If you are unsure of which DVDs to buy to learn sign language, this set is worth considering. The teachers will guide you through learning the signs. Most chapters are quite short so you can play them again to practise the signs. Learning sign language is done through repetition and these DVDs are good for that. The programme is very simple and straightforward and easy for most people to follow. The only downside to this is that sometimes the teachers can sign different groups of words a bit too quickly but once you start practising and repeating the sections, it becomes easier to follow.
