It’s more like a stretchy fishing line attached with 2 small hooks, one on each side of the hair piece. To replace you would simply unhook each side and re-hook with new wire. Also, if you’ve never worn this kind of hair piece before you might expect the wire to be uncomfortable. It’s not at all. The only drawback...the hair tangles pretty badly in the wind and on the back of your neck underneath. It’s still very helpful if you have thin hair. Best advice? Hold your hair with your hand in the wind and be gentle with it when you comb or brush it.
