Designed to help heavy-duty diesel operators comply with EPA NOx emission standards, it includes all necessary accessories for quick, reliable testing. Trusted by professionals to prevent costly engine issues, this kit ensures your SCR system runs optimally by verifying the critical 32.5% urea solution concentration. ## Description The Refractometer is a portable, precision, optical instrument used for measuring the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) concentration. When a liquid sample is placed on the prism, the light passing through it is bent. The more concentrated the liquid, the more the light will bend. The Refractometer contains a reticle, or scale, that is enlarged through the eyepiece to measure this light. The values on the scale have been established to evaluate the DEF condition. EPA regulations require all diesel engines manufactured on or after January 1, 2010 to meet lowered NOx emissions standards. Most heavy duty engine (Class 7-8 trucks) manufacturers, have chosen to utilize SCR. This Includes Detroit Diesel (DD13, DD15, and DD16 models), Cummins (ISX line), PACCAR, and Volvo/Mack. SCR-equipped engines require the periodic addition of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF, a urea solution) to enable the process. DEF is available in a bottle from most truck stops, and some have installed bulk DEF dispensers near the Diesel Fuel pumps. However, to ensure the proper operation of the SCR system, operators must ensure the DEF in their vehicle consists of a 32.5 percentage Urea/Water solution. It makes this a simple and quick process for an operator or technician. Scale: 0.5 percentage, line graduations 32.5 percentage, indicated scale 15-40 percentage, waterline, and 20 degree Celsius kit includes Refractometer, dropper, lens wipe cloth, instructions and quick guide, screwdriver and case. ## Features - The refractometer is a portable precision optical instrument used for measuring the diesel exhaust fluid concentration - When a liquid sample is placed on the prism the light passing through it is bent and the more concentrated the liquid the more the light will bend - The refractometer contains a reticle or scale that is enlarged through the eyepiece to measure this light and the values on the scale have been established to evaluate the DEF condition - EPA regulations require all diesel engines manufactured on or after January 1 2010 to meet lowered NOx emissions standards - Most heavy duty engine manufacturers have chosen to utilize SCR including Detroit Diesel DD13 DD15 DD16 Cummins ISX line PACCAR and Volvo-Mack ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0054WI5KQ | | Best Sellers Rank | #74,415 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #6 in Heavy Duty Vehicle Antifreeze, Coolant & Diesel Exhaust Fluid | | Brand Name | OTC | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (355) | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00731413559846 | | Included Components | Unit^Instruction Guide | | Item Dimensions | 12.3 x 5.9 x 2.85 inches | | Item Highlight | Includes Refractometer, Dropper, Lens Wipe Cloth, Instructions and Quick Start Guide, Screwdriver, and Case | | Item Type Name | DEF Refractometer | | Item Weight | 1 g | | Manufacturer | OTC | | Material Type | Glass, Metal, Plastic | | Model | 5025 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | 5025 | | UPC | 731413559846 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 1 year manufacturer | ## Product Details - **Brand:** OTC - **Item Weight:** 1 g - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 12.3 x 5.9 x 2.85 inches - **Material:** Glass, Metal, Plastic ## Images ![OTC 5025 Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Refractometer Kit - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81z5AAkks3L.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - OTC 5025 Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Refractometer - Performance Tool W16500 Professional DEF Tester (Disc Type DEF, Diesel Exhaust Fluid tester) - EISCO Plastic Graduated Cylinder, 500mL - Class B - Stable Hexagonal Base - Premium Polypropylene - Lab Cylinder, Measuring Cylinder --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ae/products/5420113-otc-5025-diesel-exhaust-fluid-def-refractometer-kit](https://www.desertcart.ae/products/5420113-otc-5025-diesel-exhaust-fluid-def-refractometer-kit) --- *Product available on Desertcart United Arab Emirates* *Store origin: AE* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
